Long Term Study of Otitis Media with Effusion after Palatoplasty and Myringotomy with Ventilation Tube Insertion

Objective: To identify the incidence of recurrent otitis media in cleft palate patients after palatoplasty and myringotomy \14 ";">with ventilation tube (VT) insertion addition to identifying risk factors with effusion (OME). Material Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted from; January 2002 – December 2014. A total 120 non- syndromic were included analyzed for contributing ";">media effusion. Results: ";">In total, 77.5% VT slipped off at 10 months their initial operation. The OME 54.2% 7 off. Significant that associated included: complete palate, two-stage slip-off (p-value<0.05). Conclusion: ";">The recurrence 54.2%, are off, palatoplasty.
